Blogging reasons revisited
The first thing one should do after having a job interview is sit on the couch and chug a Bailey’s mini. I am feeling particularly amused remembering an old SNL skit I saw, where Jane Curtain and Dan Ackroyd are having a debate. After she finishes making a fiery point about about women’s rights or something, he looks at her and says “Jane, you ignorant slut.” That is probably one of the best responses to say to anyone, male or female. You should try it.
I picked up an issue of Glamour magazine because I heard that they did an article on WOMEN WHO BLOG. I was disappointed with it though, especially with the use of key words like “self-absorbed exhibitionist” or “look-at-me culture.” They portrayed women who did it for egoistic reasons or who “performed for their audience” or had negative consequences from blogging, and only highlighted a few positives. Maybe that relates to some, but I think blogging is a lot more than that and it is especially powerful for those who felt unable to express themselves or be themselves at certain times in their lives. And it is so much fun if you love to write. I stand by all the reasons I listed before.
Glamour, you ignorant slut.
